Straighten up again

Straighten up again

Did you know back pain is experienced by 80% of the world’s population at some time of their life according to the American Chiropractic Association? On Saturday Ovidians celebrated world Spin day with the esteemed physiotherapist Dr.Selam Aklilu and her team. We are delighted to have had this day celebrated the way we did. World Spine day is celebrated each year on October 16th on every continent and country.
In Ethiopia, we celebrated the day at one of our construction sites located at Gerji. It was chosen because construction workers are young and they handle heavy workloads that require their physical strength. This could bring serious health issues like back pains if they are not careful.
Aside from the construction workers, office workers are also in danger of the same health complications. These individuals stay in one chair for almost 10 hours or so causing severe back pains as time goes by if not treated immediately. The exercises we did at the site were designed to help us prevent back problems that could arise from too much workload that could put pressure on our backs.
As we would like to advise our readers and followers to always straighten up while doing office work. Do not spend more than an hour on your computers. To remind our construction workers as well as every other construction worker to keep in mind the health complications their work could bring and to be careful in doing their jobs. We would also like to thank Dr.Selam Aklilu and her team of experts for the care and concern as well as for having celebrated the day with us at the site.
